Pear "Delbarju" - one of the most large-fruited varieties of autumn ripening. The variety was bred by French breeders in a nursery called Delbara.

Description and varietal characteristics

Pear variety "Delbarju" forms dwarf trees, which very quickly come into bearing. Already on two-year-old seedlings, one can observe gloves ready for fruiting.

The ripened fruits are large, have a regular and very attractive pear-shaped. The average mass of marketable fruit is at least 255-325 g. The weight of individual fruits reaches 470 g. The skin is green in color, which, when ripe, changes to straw yellow.

A slight pink blush is observed on the sunny side of the fetus. The pulp of ripe fruits is white. The taste is very delicate and sweet, with spicy sourness. According to the results of the tasting, the dessert variety was rated at five points, he, according to most tasters, is the standard of taste for pears.

The variety has excellent production performance. Harvested transportable. The period of removable maturity falls on the beginning of October. The stage of consumer maturity begins in October-December. In a refrigerator, the fruits retain their palatability and attractive appearance until January.

How to plant a pear in the fall

Cutting Technology

The cuttings of the Delbarju pear are reddish in color, with kidneys wide, round, and pressed to the cuttings. The grafting technique is simple, it involves the following manipulations:

  • for propagation, it is recommended to prepare cuttings obtained from a full and absolutely healthy fruit plant, corresponding to all varietal characters and characteristics;
  • the presence of leaves on the handle allows you to control the survival of the plant;
  • cuttings need to be harvested from fully ripened branches with two-year-old wood;
  • in case of a break, a “closed fracture” of the branch to the core should be performed, but without damage to the cortex;
  • the optimal survival rate has cuttings, the length of which is 15-20 cm;
  • the break point must be bandaged with grafting tape or other suitable material, including electrical tape;

  • in the first ten days of April, you need to unwind dressing material and cut the cuttings along the break zone;
  • in high plastic bottles, pour rain or melt water, add activated charcoal and put cuttings there;
  • for faster root formation, heteroauxin or other stimulating drugs can be added to water;
  • the cuttings installed in water at room temperature for a month form a callus "cone", after which the roots of the plant begin to grow actively.
  • after the root length is approximately 5 cm, the cuttings are ready for planting in open ground.

Planted plants must be tied to supporting wooden pegs. In the early days, planted pear seedlings should be shaded and watered with plenty of water at room temperature. Subject to the technology for the autumn period, it is possible to obtain powerful and well-developed plants.

After landing care

After planting, it is necessary to carefully monitor the condition of the fruit plant, its growth and development. Standard care measures are carried out, including weeding and loosening of soil in near-stem circles, watering and top dressing.

Timely top dressing is of great importance in caring for the abundantly fruiting pear of the Delbarju variety. When calculating the amount and choosing the type of fertilizer, the composition of the soil should be taken into account. Annual feeding after planting should be carried out:

  • organic matter in the form of bird droppings or manure;
  • ammonium nitrate or urea;
  • superphosphate;
  • potassium sulfate or wood ash.

Any fertilizer must be applied exclusively to moist soil or to top-dress along with irrigation.

Gardeners reviews

Positive feedback about the variety was received from many owners of this fruit crop, but it is currently impossible to find a reliable source of a homologous description, so the origin of the variety and its qualitative characteristics have to be taken for granted.

According to gardeners, the pear "Delbaru" - large-fruited, fruitful, very tasty and marketable. A certain plus can be considered earlier entry into bearing. Large fruits significantly make the crown heavier, therefore experienced gardeners recommend installing supports in a timely manner to protect against branch breakage.

How to prune a pear

Despite the fact that this fruit crop is able to independently regulate the load of the crop, it is recommended to normalize the fruits. The variety is relatively frost-resistant, but in too severe winters, bark damage is observed, which, however, often enough is independently restored.
