Pear "Kiffer" refers to the autumn varieties of fruit crops that are popular in our country. This variety was bred in the USA, and its description was obtained from the originator of the variety "PeterKieffer" back in 1868.
According to unspecified data, the seed material of the Ussuri, or Chinese, sand pear pollinated by the variety Bere Anjou or Williams was used for breeding. The variety is recommended for home gardening in the southern regions of our country. It is quite widespread in the territory of Moldova and Ukraine.
The Kiffer pear is characterized by the formation of medium-tall trees with a pyramidal and fairly dense crown. The main type of skeletal branches departs from the stem at an angle of 30 °. Fruiting is observed on the seedlings and three-year-old wood. For fruiting, planting pollinators is necessary.
Fruits are medium, rarely large, sizes, barrel-shaped, with the presence of tuberosity. Covered with a thick, dry, rough skin, which at the stage of removal has a light green color. The surface of the fully ripened fruits is golden yellow, with areas of irrigation. On the sunny side, a brownish-red blush may be present.
The flesh is yellowish, with a white tint, very juicy and sweet, somewhat rough. The taste is satisfactory, with a specific flavor. The period of removable fruit ripeness falls on the last days of September. When harvested, the harvest is stored until December.

Pear seedlings older than three years are considered to be large-sized, nor even the most experienced specialist can guarantee 100% survival during planting.
When planting a Kiffer pear, it is imperative to provide for the joint planting of at least one more variety to increase the percentage of pollination. A planting hole under a pear seedling is dug up with a diameter of 80-100 cm, and the depth should be at least one meter. The pit should be filled with a nutrient mixture at the rate of two buckets of rotted manure or ripened compost with the addition of top soil.
